I am a co-founder of Syracuse Grows, a grassroots network that cultivates food justice through advocacy, education, and resources in support of urban food production. In this capacity I work to support the emerging urban agriculture movement in Syracuse and am a founding member of the Westcott Community Garden. Additionally, I work with students both inside and outside the classroom to participate in community engagement activities. Students have completed projects with community partners (see FoodPlanCNY website) and work with various community initiatives (see My Lucky Tummy).
